IVORC is committed to making high-quality research publishing accessible to all authors, regardless of financial circumstances. To support this goal, we are currently piloting a Publication Fee Assistance Initiative across our affiliated journals.

At this stage, the initiative provides support for authors who face financial barriers in covering Article Processing Charges (APCs) when publishing in participating journals.

Authors may request assistance at the time of manuscript submission. Applicants may be asked to provide basic information about available funding sources, such as research grants, institutional support, library funds, or other forms of assistance. We encourage authors to explore all possible funding options before applying.

All requests are reviewed confidentially and separately from the editorial process. Editors and reviewers have no access to any information related to financial assistance applications. Editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of the manuscript’s scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, ethical standards, and relevance to the journal.

Support is assessed on a case-by-case basis, taking into account financial need and available resources. Where approved, assistance may be provided as a reduction in publication fees. Submission of an application does not guarantee approval.

Requests submitted after a manuscript has been accepted will not be considered. All information provided is treated as strictly confidential and used only for the purpose of assessing eligibility.

This initiative is currently being tested within IVORC’s affiliated journals, with the aim of expanding it across our wider journal portfolio in the future. We welcome collaboration and support from institutions, funders, and the research community as we work toward a more inclusive and sustainable publishing model.
